Zero Carbon Harrogate Hosts An Inspiring Evening With Renowned Climate Scientist Professor Piers Forster


Harrogate, UK – Mark your calendars for an unmissable evening on Thursday 18th July; leading climate action charity, Zero Carbon Harrogate invites the local community to come to their inspiring talk and Q&A session with esteemed climate scientist Piers Forster. This event promises to be an informative and engaging experience for all attendees. 

Talk Title: "Meeting the UK Government's Carbon Budgets - What Does This Mean for Yorkshire?" 

Keynote Speaker: Piers Forster is Professor of Physical Climate Change, Director of the Priestley International Centre for Climate at the University of Leeds, and Zero Carbon Harrogate Patron, and will be delivering a keynote address discussing the new UK government, providing analysis of their climate policies, plus what this means for Yorkshire. Piers, who also serves as the Interim Chair for the UK's Climate Change Committee (CCC), brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as an advisor to the UK government, and will be taking questions at the end. The talk will provide crucial insights into how we can align local action with the national carbon budgets and targets, making this a must-attend event for anyone passionate about climate action! 

Tagged onto Zero Carbon Harrogate’s AGM (Annual General Meeting), not only is this a fantastic chance to get insider knowledge from an expert, but also an opportunity for all Zero Carbon Harrogate volunteers, members, and supporters to come together, along with local residents, to celebrate the charity's achievements so far and hear about their exciting plans for the future.
