What’s Your Beef? Disability Action Yorkshire to Host Panel Discussion with New MP
Disability Action Yorkshire (DAY) is inviting the community to its upcoming panel discussion, “What’s Your Beef?” – an open forum for disabled people to share concerns and seek answers from key experts.
The event will take place on Friday, 7th February, between 3-5pm at The Crown Hotel, Harrogate.
This year, the discussion will be chaired by Tom Gordon MP, offering a fresh perspective to tackle local accessibility challenges. Attendees can engage directly with a panel of specialists, including:
Graham North, York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority – Transport
Maggie Gibson, North Yorkshire Council – Housing
Mike Rudd, North Yorkshire Council & Chris Watson, North Yorkshire Council and Harrogate District Foundation Trust – Health & Social Care
Matthew Chapman, Harrogate BID – Town Centre Accessibility
Mike Dales, North Yorkshire Employer & Partnership Manager DWP – Employment
From housing and employment to healthcare and transport, the panel will address the pressing issues impacting daily life for disabled people in Yorkshire.
Jackie Snape, CEO of Disability Action Yorkshire, said: “Our mission is to amplify the voices of disabled people and ensure that decision-makers listen and act.
This event is about creating real change in the community by tackling the barriers disabled people face every day.
Last year’s transport-focused roundtable was a success. Local operators, including Northern and Leeds Bradford Airport, shared their plans for improving accessibility, while attendees highlighted key connectivity challenges.
Building on that momentum, this year’s event expands the conversation to a broader range of issues.
No registration is required – just bring your voice and your questions. This is your chance to connect with leaders and ensure your concerns are heard and addressed.
