Sharon Canavar : Running for David
Sharon Canavar, the fabulous CEO of Harrogate International Festivals, will be running the Great North Run in aid of the Stroke Association as a result of our own CEO David Simister suffering his devastating stroke earlier this year.
So here’s a message from the great lady herself :
Right you lovely lot. I know times are hard but any pennies or pounds you can give to help support the Stroke Association I'd be very grateful.
I have a place on the Great North Run this year and I've chosen to run it on behalf of the Stroke Association as our amazing mate & colleague David Simister suffered a life changing & devastating stroke a few months ago.
It won't be fast, it won't be pretty but I will finish!
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
