Disability Action Yorkshire Offers Businesses Free Accessibility Audits
Chamber member Disability Action Yorkshire is offering organisations free “Business Accessibility Audits” to give them the tools and information they need to become more accessible.
The audits advise businesses and organisations on simple ways that they can increase their accessibility - often without much expense or complexity. Some key ideas include installing lifts and automatic doors that stay open for longer, offering wheelchair friendly toilets in all businesses, and very simply ensuring warm and friendly customer service to all.
Disability Action Yorkshire’s aim is to help make the region a truly accessible place to live with no barriers or obstacles for people; each Business Accessibility Audit contributes towards this goal.
The audits are carried out on site, but the charity also offers an awareness training programme to all businesses across the UK which can be completed either in person or online.
