Harrogate Town AFC join Jeff Stelling on his March in aid of Prostate Cancer UK

Harrogate Town AFC supporter and staff member Aubrey Smith will be joining Jeff Stelling on his Football March in aid of Prostate Cancer UK later this year

It’s that time of year again when Jeff Stelling (ex-presenter of Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports TV) has launched plans to undertake his 34th Football March to raise funds for prostate cancer and this time in honour of his friend Bill Turnbull (ex-BBC Newscaster) who died of this terrible disease at the untimely age of 66.

The march will take place on 17th September between Wembley Stadium and Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers where Bill was a devoted fan. According to Google Maps this is a distance of around 30 miles and should take about nine hours to complete.

Accompanying Jeff on this march once again will be our very own Aubrey Smith, who was diagnosed with early-stage Prostate Cancer in 2021, and currently works in the Harrogate Town Club Official Store on Commercial Street.

Aubrey is looking to raise money which will help fund vital lifesaving research and support services for men and their families affected by this disease. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK during their lifetime and is the most common form of cancer in men.

If, and only if, you are able to do so and you would like to support Aubrey in raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK you can donate by using the link below to his Just Giving Page. (Your donation can also be significantly increased if you are a UK tax-payer and use ‘Gift Aid’).

Many thanks for your support. We know that Aubrey really appreciates it and more importantly so does Prostate Cancer UK along with the thousands upon thousands of men and their families and friends who they have helped and are continuing to help.
