Your Chance To Quiz Election Candidates At Stray Ferret Hustings
Voters will have a chance to question their local general election candidates at two hustings events this month organised by the Stray Ferret.
The first one, for the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency, will take place at the Wesley Centre in Harrogate on Tuesday, June 25. So far, all but one of the seven candidates have agreed to take part.
The second, for the Skipton and Ripon constituency, will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at Holy Trinity Church in Ripon. So far, six of the eight candidates have confirmed their attendance.
Doors open for both events at 6pm, and the sessions will start at 6.30pm. They will be chaired by Stray Ferret editor John Plummer.
He said:
These events give readers the chance to see the candidates up close and put their questions to them in the week before the election.
It's a key part of the democratic process and we hope to see as many of you there as possible.
Admission to both events is free, but limited by space. To book a place at the Harrogate and Knaresborough hustings, click or tap here. To book a place at the Skipton and Ripon hustings, click or tap here.
We will put readers' questions to the panel. To submit a question, email contact@thestrayferret.co.uk. We will ask as many as possible and also hope to have time for audience questions on the night.
Candidates attending will be:
Tom Gordon - Liberal Democrats
Paul Haslam - Independent Party
Andrew Jones - Conservative Party
Shan Oakes - Green Party
Jonathan Swales - Reform UK
Conrad Whitcroft - Labour Party
