Partnering for Purpose : Corporate Social Responsibility

Our February meeting, which is to be held at The Old Swan Hotel on Monday 12 February, 5.30pm - 8pm and will focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and what it means for businesses in 2024.

CSR is a business management concept whereby organisations contribute in a positive way to society and the environment beyond their core activities. The meeting will help demystify CSR, offering Chamber members and guests the opportunity to learn from the experience of other organisations.

Attendees will hear from a panel of representatives of Harrogate organisations, including Damian Wilkinson from Harrogate Spring Water and Rachel Tranter of Envirovent. In addition, Kate Rogata from Supporting Older People, a local charity will discuss the benefits they enjoy from their relationships with local businesses.

Chamber CEO, Martin Mann said “Corporate Social Responsibility is no longer simply a business buzzword or tickbox exercise; it is fundamental to modern business practice. Organisations that live and breathe strong social and environmental values positively impact the communities and people around them, making for a better place to live and do business. It is no mistake that those businesses that invest in the environment and communities around them are much better positioned for success in the short and longer terms. We look forward to hearing from our expert panel who will share their experiences implementing CSR with the Chamber.”

The event begins at 5.30 pm, giving registered members and guests the opportunity to network and connect. Tea and coffee will be provided, before the main meeting starts at 6.15pm. Following the CSR discussion, Chamber members will have the opportunity to share their latest news.

As an ‘open meeting’, first-time visitors are welcome to attend and all companies are entitled to bring along more than one member of staff. You can reserve your spot here: https://www.harrogatechamber.co.uk/events
