Leading Lawyer Warns of Corporate Changes

Leading Yorkshire lawyer, Paul Berwin, has warned that many businesses run the risk of falling foul of new laws which govern the way companies operate.

The regulations, which bring about radical changes to the role of Companies House, are the subject of a seminar Chamber member Berwins Solicitors will be hosting on 10th April.

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act brings in a raft of measures which affect anyone who interacts with Companies House, from company directors to those who file on behalf of a business.

Commenting on the developments, Berwin said: “Given the nature of the changes, it’s surprising how little noise there has been about these developments.”

“I’m keen to change that and to help both businesses and individuals avoid falling foul of the penalties for non-adherence, which can range from possible fines, increased costs and even criminal offences. We’ll be exploring all of that, as well as practical steps to take, in what promises to be an informative and accessible session.”

This Berwins Solicitors event will take place at 4pm on Wednesday 10th April at Hotel du Vin in the heart of Harrogate. There is no cost to attend and tickets can be secured by emailing events@berwins.co.uk or book direct by clicking below.
