HS4L donated new Mosaic by Artizan International
Two disability charities based in Harrogate have joined forces to produce a mosaic that will be exhibited at a newly established training centre. Artizan International and Harrogate Skills 4 Living (HS4L) are dedicated to offering care and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
The mosaic was crafted by disabled artists from Artizan, a local charity in Harrogate that conducts arts and crafts workshops and delivers training programs to disabled individuals. The ceramic-tile artwork has been presented to HS4L for display outside their recently acquired training centre.
Since acquiring the training centre in early April, HS4L has utilised the space to provide educational initiatives and internships for young individuals with learning disabilities. Hadyn Moorby-Davies, the Chief Executive of HS4L, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "It's truly wonderful to work alongside individuals who share our vision, values, and aspirations - to assist disabled individuals in overcoming obstacles and leading fulfilling lives. The magnificent mosaic will add a stunning touch to the bare brick walls of our new training centre."
Haydn further emphasised that the theme of the mosaic, 'Many Hands,' reflects the charities' ethos of supporting one another to achieve optimal outcomes for all.
Artizan has gained local recognition for its expertise in creating mosaics, including the prominent Harrogate letters displayed on the side of the Boots building in the town centre in 2022. Liz Cluderay, the UK Director of Artizan, expressed delight in producing this exquisite mosaic for their friends at HS4L to showcase in their impressive new training centre called North Barn. Liz highlighted the significance of collaborative projects between organisations serving the needs of the disabled community, as they enable reaching more individuals who can benefit from their services.
