Horticap Turns 40 This Year
2024 is a very special year for Horticap as we celebrate our 40th anniversary of helping people to grow… (growing together) at Bluecoat Wood Nurseries.

We set out in 1984 with the simple belief that the lives of our students could be enhanced by connecting with nature through the horticultural skills they learn at Horticap. Our students are Horticap’ s unsung heroes who have contributed to 40 years of growth.
There have been many milestones along the way, from the development of Horticap’s facilities, which now includes a gift shop, café and gardens.
As part of our celebrations we have this year welcomed our patron Alan Titchmarsh, M.P. Andrew Jones and His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, who along with other special guests joined us at Horticap for our student awards day.
This is just one of a number of events this year as we look to raise funds to replace some of our original facilities providing much needed improvements for our students.
