Harrogate Estate Agent and Business Services provider team up for Foodbank Challenge

Harrogate Estate Agent, Verity Frearson have pledged to support Harrogate based Business Services provider, Supplies Web Ltd with their mission to donate 1 tonne of food in their foodbank challenge.

Matthew Stamford (Director VF), Paul Graves (Director SW) & Mark Hague (Business Development Manager SW

Paul Graves, Director of Supplies Web said “As a business, we have set ourselves a challenge to collect 1 Tonne of food and supplies, delivering to our local foodbanks –“Harrogate District Foodbank” in Harrogate and “One Can Trust” in High Wycombe.

Around 13.4 million people have been living in poverty in the UK in 2020/2021* that includes 3.9 million children. As the cost-of-living crisis is increasing poverty rates, we wanted to take meaningful action. That's why we launched our campaign to collect 1 tonne of food for our local foodbanks. We believe that nobody should have to face going hungry”.

Paul continues, “Many of our valued customers are working in partnership with us to help achieve our goal. When we deliver products to our customers, we collect any donations and take them back to our depots to be weighed and logged before being transported to the local foodbank.”

Paul contacted Matthew Stamford, Director at Verity Frearson after seeing the estate agents 100 Days of Giving initiative last year to celebrate their 100th birthday.

Paul said “We knew that Verity Frearson were a community minded company after seeing their incredible 100 Days of Giving campaign. They are the perfect Harrogate based company to help us achieve our goal of donating 1 tonne of food to the foodbanks. Their prominent town centre offices make the perfect central location for a drop-off point”

Matthew Stamford told us, “When Paul contacted us to see if we’d be interested in getting involved in their foodbank challenge we jumped at the chance. As a business, we have made ongoing commitment to give back to the local community and to help the people who need the most support. With people struggling financially, food banks are playing a more important role than ever. Donations are crucial to supporting the local community and we are hoping that by teaming up with Supplies Web, we can encourage a positive increase in donations”

The drop off point is now in place and if you’re able to help, simply pop into Verity Frearson on Albert Street with any suitable donations (non-perishables eg rice, spaghetti hoops, jam, deodorant etc.. No fresh food or alcohol please).
