‘Cutest Puppy’ And ‘Best Trick’ Feature In Top Categories For Harrogate Dog Show 2025

Harrogate BID is delighted to announce details of the official categories for the Harrogate Dog Show 2025.

Harrogate BID has announced details of the categories for this year’s Dog Show event.

The popular event, which is set to return to the town centre for its fourth year on Saturday, April 12th, will feature seven different categories for owners and their furry friends to enter across the day.

From ‘Handsomest Dog’ and ‘Fanciest Female’ to ‘Cutest Puppy’ and ‘Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home’ – there’s a broad range of classes for you and your dogs to get involved in.

There will also be the overall ‘Best in Show’ prize handed out by celebrity star judge The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen after all of the classes have taken place. Amanda will judge all of the categories on the day, meeting each of the entrants to help with her decision.

Bethany Allen, Operations and Projects Executive at Harrogate BID, said: “All of our categories sold out in less than an hour last year, so make sure you get down early on the day to reserve your space!

“Do you think your dog could be this year’s ‘Best in Show’? Or even the dog that Amanda would most like to take home? Well make sure you don’t miss out!

“We can’t wait to bring back this excellent event to our town centre and look forward to seeing all of you and your furry friends for some fantastic fun!”

Registration for the categories will open at 10am on the day, with classes set to begin from 11am. These will be available on a first come, first served basis with a limited number of entries per category.

The Mini Dog Park will be open throughout the day featuring an obstacle course open for up to 15 dogs at a time. So, even if you don’t fancy entering a class, there’s still a chance for some fantastic fun!

Harrogate town centre is home to an impressive amount of dog friendly businesses, from national chains and independent retailers to pubs, bars and cafes. Look out for the ‘dog friendly’ stickers in the front windows of local businesses. Any businesses wishing to join the dog friendly scheme should contact the BID team on info@harrogatebid.co.uk
