The company is offering the facility to local businesses for three months so that they can continue to hold meetings when staff are working remotely or self-isolating.

Tony Mellor of Xi Comms said the aim was to support Harrogate’s business community through the coronavirus crisis and that companies did not need to be a client to qualify.

“It’s our way of supporting the local economy during challenging times,” said Tony.

“We know businesses are under a lot of strain and this is something we can do to help.”

Tony said over the past month Xi Comms has seen an increase in enquiries from firms wanting to make changes to their phones and networks to facilitate remote working.

“There is no doubt that the coronavirus is prompting a rethink for many firms and our message is that there is simple technology that can help,” he said.

“Many of our clients already have the infrastructure in place and it is just a case of talking them through some of the functionality that they don’t normally use every day.

“In some cases we are helping companies set things up from scratch within a tight deadline so they know they have everything in place should they need it.”
